Tim Cook To Take Stage October 4th

It looks a big day coming up on October 4th for new Apple CEO Tim Cook. According to AllThingsD Apple will announce the iPhone 5 release at a media event on Tuesday, October 4:

Tuesday, October 4. That’s the day Apple is currently expected to hold its next big media event, according to sources close to the situation, where the tech giant will unveil the next iteration of its popular iPhone.

AllThingsD also states that the iPhone 5 device will be on sale within a couple of weeks after Mr. Cook makes his first big announcement as CEO of Apple. Apple events are always watched closely but especially this one will attract plenty of attention to see how Tim Cook performs and puts his own signature on this event. There will be much pressure on Tim Cook but he has been groomed for this role for many years so we expect him to receive high marks. AllThingsD speculates that Steve Jobs may make an appearance at this event. Even if Jobs is having a great health day, we don’t expect Jobs to attend because Apple is smarter than that. Tim Cook needs to be on center stage establishing his new leadership without the distraction of Steve Jobs at the event.

Wouldn’t it be so cool if Tim Cook had an iPad 3 release date announcement at this event? Ok, that is beyond speculative and a bit silly but that is what Apple rumors are made of.
