Quailty Earbuds are a Great iPad Accessory

Everything about an iOS device is high performance except for the earphones. I don’t like the standard issue earbuds from Apple. Don’t get me wrong, they are well designed and basic. But for the audiophiles out there you know we are always needing to upgrade our sound.

We found some affordable high quality great sounding earphones called Ultimate Ears 500vi, which was acquired by Logitech. I really like the sleek design and the color black is a nice change from the standard issue white iPod-like earbuds. I own another quality set of earphones from Etymotic (ER23-HF3), that I’ve used with my iPad 2 and iPhone 4. I like the Ultimate Ears 500vi much better overall. The Etymotic sound was great but I was never happy with the earbud design and often had to give my ear canals frequent breaks. I overpaid for the Etymotic ER23-HF3 earphones, then around $150. The Ultimate Ears 500vi retails for much less ($80) and the best price Continue reading

iPad App and Accessory Parents Will Love

For all you parents driving a minivan full of kids on vacation I’ve found a great solution for highway boredom for the kids. Of course, you can play movies all the way to the beach but you may prefer this iPad accessory which is educational and entertaining. Crayola and Griffin Technology have teamed up to solve this problem together with this iPad app plus iPad accessory. It’s called the Crayola ColorStudio HD iPad app which turns your iPad tablet into digital drawing canvas. (Video demo below the break)
The Crayola brand has been a family favorite for years along with the technology over at Griffin make this a nice combo. Combining this iPad app along with a special marker pen stylus called the iMarker introduces a new iPad art experience for all your children. Your children will be engaged in coloring in images with the iMarker stylus to create their own fun animations and drawings. We really liked how this iPad app can respond while your Continue reading

Flashy iPad Case with Keyboard

The iPad case keyboard combinations that have been produced lately are improving their design. I’ve not been quick to jump in and cover up the beauty of the iPad 2 with any of the iPad cases. Actually I have carried both my original iPad and the iPad 2 naked without a case since day one. I may be ready now for a keyboard case after seeing the Aluminum Keyboard Buddy Case for iPad 2 from MicGadget out of Hong Kong. When the cover is closed doesn’t this combination iPad case morph into a Macbook Air look-a-like? (See Video demo after the break)

We like the shape of this iPad case with it’s iPad-like curved aluminum back. The nearly full-sized QWERTY keyboard that so resembles Apple’s high quality bluetooth aluminum keyboard. This iPad case keyboard also comes with a USB rechargable lithium-polymer battery. This may really become a hit for students who can’t afford a Macbook Air but by adding this $50 case you got a pretty functional laptop replacement for less money. The only downside I see here is that it ships from Hong Kong at a costs of $13.00 but for $63.00 this looks like a solid and cleverly designed iPad accessory. Click here to get it from M.I.C. store. Guitar Pedalboard for the iPad

My son is a passionate guitarist or in current vernacular -a guitarhead. He uses his iPad 2 along with his guitar on a daily basis with apps like the Guitar World Lick of the Day. Today his mind was blown by Digitech’s new iPad Pedalboard. This iPad news for guitarists allows for docking the iPad to the Digitech programmable pedalboard. With DigiTech’s new iPB-10 Programmable Pedalboard, guitarists actually slot the iPad tablet into the built-in docking bay and then connect the instrument and amp to the back of the iPad pedaboard. This offers guitarists a drag and drop chain of digital effects along with the free Pedalboard iPad 2 app and then use the physical footswitches to control the action. This is a creative marriage between a musicians pedalboard and this iPad 2 accessory.

The iPB-Nexus iPad 2 app that comes along with the pedalboard allows users to string up to 10 effects at once, also providing users with up to 87 different pedal choices. Users can create a range of effects like wah, distortion, chorus, flangers and phasers. Shipping of the Digitech iPad Pedalboard starts shipping in June for a whopping $700! If a hardcore guitarist does not yet own an iPad 2 I’m guessing they may be tempted to buy one just to put this combination together.

iPad 2 stand wooden

Even with the Apple smartcover many of us still feel the need for an iPad 2 stand. We found the Groovystand that is compatible with the new iPad 2 as a an iPad stand.
The Groovystand is an original iPad stand built of Maple hardwood. Groovystand iPad stand has a nice variety of  iPad stands depending on your particular use and location for its use.  Depending on the iPad stand model that you choose, Grooystand is priced nicely at 14.95$ for a dual stand that has two different angled grooves (45° and 18°) for different viewing angles.
