Get Productive With Oooloo iPad App

Since the iCloud release by Apple iPad 2 app developers have a whole new set of possible design options. There are thousands of productivity apps on the Apple App Store but not all of them take advantage of cloud syncing. We found a recently released app called Oooloo, developed by Lazy Appz, that is a nice option for syncing all your To do’s, Contacts, Calendars and Text Notes.

We really like the creative user interface and easy tap navigation. The Oooloo iPad app is not your typical productivity app there is some real design thought going on here. For the GTD fans you’ll find the customization options appealing with some really innovative features. In my testing there is only a minimal learning curve to get up and running. I easily got my top category lists set up and all was backed up to the cloud instantly. Continue Reading →

iPad Trademark Dispute in Shanghai a Win for Apple

The Wall Street Journal reported today that the Chinese company Proview got another setback in fighting Apple over rights to the iPad trademark in China. The People’s court in Shanghai rejected a Proview’s desire for a preliminary injunction against the sale of iPad. This means Apple can continue selling iPads in its flagship Shanghai stores and it keeps the iPad 3 release announcement on track.

The court also acceded to a request by Apple to postpone proceedings until a court in China’s southern Guangdong province decides on an appeal in another case requested by the Cupertino, Calif., company. The Guangdong Provincial High Court is expected to hear the appeal on Wednesday.

The hearings in Shanghai are pushed back until the results of a separate case in the Guangdong provincial high court gives a ruling. Continue Reading →

iPad 3 Retina Display Looks Firm

It appears that the iPad 3 display will be an ultra-high resolution display. iPad 3 component parts leaks usually arrive a few weeks before the launch of each iPad. Looks like MacRumors has firm confirmation of an iPad 3 retina display.

They were able to get their hands on one of these iPad 3 screens and put it under a microscope to examine closely the resolution. They report that iPad 3 screen is the same size as the current iPad 2 device which measures diagonally 9.7 inches.

When MacRumors compared the iPad 3 screen to the same screen on the iPad 2 tablet under a microscope it showed that iPad 3 display’s pixels appearing to be one-quarter the size of those on the iPad 2. Continue Reading →

iPad 3 release will have LTE

We are all getting excited about the upcoming iPad 3 release which still seems to be set for March 7th in San Francisco. The iPad 3 is rumored to feature the Apple A6 quad-core processor. This will be a big upgrade if this rumor is true. Everyone expects the improved graphics to include the new Retina display.

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that AT&T and Verizon will carry the iPad 3 which will include LTE capability. It would only seem right for Sprint to also be included as an LTE iPad 3 carrier but the WSJ makes no mention of that. Here is an excerpt from the WSJ yesterday.  Continue Reading →
